Disneyland. Universal Studios. Hollywood. It’s easy to sum up Los Angeles in three words. But there’s more to the City of Angels than theme parks and the famous Walk of Fame. Scattered around the city are cutting-edge architecture at LACMA, culinary heaven in Beverly Hills, and the world famous Venice Boardwalk. Getting around LA without car is a bit nightmarish, but if you don’t mind the summer heat and the waiting, there’s plenty of bus stops and Über rides in major tourist attractions. Or you can always hop on a Hop-On-Hop-Off bus for easier alternative.
Today is the third day we’ve been in LA. We went to Disneyland yesterday and will be going to the newly opened Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios tomorrow. So excited! The weather was quite hot yesterday, but that didn’t stop me from enjoying the rides! We went to Tomorrowland first to have light breakfast and then watched the Star Wars show. I wanted to ride the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, but the line was more than 45 minutes everytime I passed by, so I decided to skipped it. The ones with the longest and fastest line were “it’s a small world” in Fantasyland and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh in Critter Country. The Sleeping Beauty Castle walkthrough was also a good place to cool down from the heat while enjoying my favourite fairytale.
Today, I’ll also talk about my first AirBnB experience! I was skeptical at first, what’s with living in a stranger’s house, albeit a popular one. But the hotel here in LA is super expensive during the month of August. So me and my mom decided to stay in an AirBnB house, literally 5 minutes away from the famous Walk of Fame and costs half the hotel price. The AirBnB listing of the house is pretty accurate, and the house is located literally 5 minutes walk away from the Walk of Fame. The best thing about staying in an AirBnB is that you feel more like a local and less like a tourist. Our host Mr. K is very accomodating, he has one of the best places in town and he made sure me and my mom had a pleasant stay. He also looks a lot less intimidating in person 😂 If you find yourself in LA and reluctant to spend a grand for a couple of nights stay at a hotel, check his place out : [AirBnB]
